Rookie Ball Division for 8 & 9 year olds Rookie Ball is the player’s first experience with “real” baseball. Games are played for 2 hours with teams taking at-bats and outs. Players learn the nuts and bolts of the game in a hands-on fashion playing innings and keeping score. Players in Rookie Ball are typically ages 8 and 9.
